Bixby Municipal Court Records

The Bixby Municipal Court is the judicial branch of city government, created by state law and city ordinance. Per the Bixby City Charter Section 5.2, the city clerk or a designated individual keeps a record of all proceedings, dispositions of cases, and all fines and money collected. The municipal judge has original jurisdiction to hear and determine all cases involving offenses against the charter and city ordinances. This court is a Court Not of Record. If someone appeals a ruling, the case gets a brand new trial in Tulsa County District Court.

Per City Charter Section 5.3, the municipal judge must have at least five years of actual legal experience and be licensed to practice law in Oklahoma. The judge holds no other office or employment in city service while under appointment. Court appearance is not mandatory for all offenses in Bixby. For select offenses, advance payment is accepted on or before the scheduled court date. Bixby Court Fees and Payments

Bixby Municipal Court accepts payments online, in person, and by mail. The online payment system takes credit and debit cards with a processing fee of $1.50. In person, visit the Court Clerk's Office at 111 N. Cabaniss Ave. between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The court accepts cash, checks, money orders, and cards for in-person payments.

All fees for open records requests are due when the request is fulfilled and are non-refundable. Under Oklahoma law, a public body cannot charge more than $0.25 per page for regular copies. Tulsa County Court Records

Serious cases from Bixby go to the Tulsa County District Court. This court handles felonies, civil cases, family law, probate, and small claims. All felonies and misdemeanors committed in Bixby that are not violations of the Bixby City Code are prosecuted in Tulsa County District Court. Clearing Bixby Court Records

The OSBI charges a $150 processing fee for expungement, payable by money order or cashier's check. Only nonviolent felonies are eligible. Sex offenses and violent felonies cannot be expunged. Misdemeanor convictions may be eligible after at least 10 years with no other convictions on your record.
